My name is Alain Hof, I'm 22 years old and from Bern. I'm the founder and owner of Halo Lids. I'm often out and about in the nightlife scene myself. Unfortunately, I and some of my acquaintances have had negative experiences with drink spiking. These negative experiences were the impetus for my startup, which is why I decided to develop a simple and immediately applicable preventative measure.
My vision and mission
I believe in a nightlife where people can move freely, celebrate, and meet without fear of boundaries being crossed or of manipulation. Prevention should not be a disruptive factor, but rather a natural part of nightlife.
My vision is for protection and vigilance to become normalized in the party scene. Not through bans or lectures, but through a simple measure that is accepted and implemented where it is needed.
With Halo Lids, I want to help clubs, festivals, and events visibly take responsibility and give their guests an added sense of security. We see prevention as a shared responsibility of organizers, partners, and guests. In the long term, this should help strengthen nightlife as a space where trust, respect, and enjoyment are paramount.
